19th Century Sacred Ritual Shankh

Hello everyone, this is my 3D study of a 19th-century ritual conch, inspired by the original piece at The Met. I’ve been learning 3D Modelling techniques deeply and this project became my way of pushing myself further into sculpting, detailing, and texturing.

I was fascinated by how a simple conch shell is transformed with brass fittings into something sacred, decorated with Lotus, Naga, and Kirtimukha motifs. Recreating these details taught me a lot about balancing organic shapes with intricate ornamentation, and it helped me appreciate how culture turns everyday forms into powerful symbols.
